Firecracker Safety Guide
Celebrate responsibly. Follow these guidelines to keep yourself, your family, and your community safe.
Important: Use only legally approved firecrackers purchased from licensed sellers. Illegal or low-quality crackers are a serious hazard. All Krithik Pyrotech products meet statutory safety standards.
Before You Start
- Read all instructions on the product label before use.
- Keep crackers away from children under 15 unless supervised by an adult.
- Store crackers in a cool, dry place — away from heat and open flames.
- Never carry crackers in your pocket or near your body.
- Inspect each cracker before use; discard any that are damaged or wet.
During Use
- Light crackers at arm's length using a long agarbatti or sparkler — never a short match.
- Light one cracker at a time; never hold a lit cracker in your hand.
- Stand back at least 5–10 metres after lighting.
- Never re-light a cracker that didn't fire — wait 30 minutes then soak it in water.
- Keep a bucket of water or fire extinguisher nearby at all times.
- Use crackers only in open areas away from buildings, vehicles, and dry vegetation.
- Never point or throw crackers at people, animals, or property.
Protect Yourself
- Wear cotton clothes — avoid synthetic fabrics that can catch fire easily.
- Keep your face and eyes away from the direction of the cracker.
- Wash your hands thoroughly with soap after handling crackers.
- Never lean over a cracker while lighting it.
- Keep pets and animals indoors during fireworks.
Emergency & First Aid
- In case of a burn, run cool (not cold) water over the area for at least 10 minutes.
- Do not apply oil, toothpaste, or butter on burns.
- Seek immediate medical attention for any serious injury.
- Call 112 (emergency) or the nearest hospital for serious burns.
- If eyes are affected, rinse with clean water and visit a doctor immediately.
After the Celebration
- Soak used and unused crackers in water before disposal.
- Never burn cracker waste — dispose of it with regular solid waste.
- Clean up the area to prevent accidental fires from smouldering debris.
- Keep unused crackers in original packaging and store safely.
